Veterinarians
Dena Eckerdt, D.V.M
“Doc Dena” is a lifelong resident of the Salinas area, attending Salinas High School and Hartnell College before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UC- Davis in 1983. She opened Prunedale Veterinary Service in 1989. Her down-to-earth manner is comforting to pets and owners alike.

Larry Eckerdt
Larry is a transplant to the Salinas area, having been born in Monterey, then moving to Salinas at the age of 3. He has honed his phone answering skills in his 26 years at Prunedale Veterinary Service, and excels at computer solitaire. A former musician, he is seldom coherent before 11 AM, and grumpy when startled.

Hello Hoomans, I’m Ariel. My passion for animals began at a young age, and it led me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. With over 7 years of clinical experience, I work closely with the Veterinarian, I assist the doctor in examinations and surgeries. My job also includes lab and clinic management. When I’m not at work my life truly lies in the quality time with my pets.
Caroline D.
Caroline here. I’ve been a part of this great veterinary team for several years now. I wear many hats at the clinic. I handle reception duties, assist the doctor, and lend a hand with clinic management. Outside of work, I am an avid reader and sometimes indulge in video games. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets.

Hi, I’m Ivette, one of your receptionists at Prunedale Veterinary Service. While my main role is at the front desk, I’m always ready to pitch in wherever I’m needed. Whether it’s assisting in exams or calming the nerves of pets. I adore animals, and I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends!
